Description : A heavy plain weave fabric with a horizontally corded texture, often used for coats or trimmings. Originally made only in silk, today it can be found in silk, wool, rayon or other manufactured fibres. The fabric is firm and has a high lustre. A variant on ottoman can also be produced with satin weave.
